Tar Heels Scrimmage On Friday

Chapel Hill, NC --Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held a 5 1/2 scrimmage on a perfect day for baseball on Friday afternoon as the Navy squad took a 7-2 win over Blue at Boshamer Stadium.
Navy jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third when Max Riemer hit a 375-foot homer to right and Patrick Alvarez hit a 403-foot homer to left center.. Blue got on the board in the bottom of the inning when Casey Cook tripled to deep center and was driven home on Tomas Frick's sacrifice fly to right.
Navy picked up three more runs in the top of the third. Johnny Castagnozzi hit a sacrifice fly to center before Maz Riemer plated two more runs with a single to left for a 5-1 Navy lead.
Blue picked up a pair of runs in the fourth as Tomas Frick and Joe Jaconski both ripped RBI-singles. Navy responded in the fifth on Alberto Osuna's 365-foot, two-run homer to left for the final 7-3 score.
Mac Horvath had a double for the only other base hit after those listed above. Max Riemer lead all players with three RBI while Tomas Frick drove in two runs.
Five pitchers saw action: Jake Knapp, Max Carlson, Dalton Pence, Kyle Percival and Justin Szestowicki.
