UNC Divers Sweep ACC Awards For Second Straight Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second week in a row and third time this season, UNC divers Anton Down-Jenkins and Aranza Vazquez were selected as ACC Men's and Women's Diver of the Week during the same week the league announced on Tuesday.
Down-Jenkins was named ACC Diver of the Week for third time this season and ninth time overall. He posted a pair of first place finishes in the Tar Heels' dual meet with Duke on Friday, winning the 1-meter (362.48) and 3-meter (429.08) springboard competitions.
Vazquez was selected as ACC Women's Diver of the Week for the fifth time this season and eighth time in her career after sweeping the diving events in Friday's dual meet against the Blue Devils. Her score on the 1-meter springboard, 350.70, is the highest by any ACC diver in the event this season and ranks as the seventh-best nationally as does her score on the 3-meter springboard, 391.05.
The Tar Heels divers return to competition Feb. 3-5 at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Christiansburg, Va.
