Tar Heel Women Top Nike/USA Lacrosse Preseason Poll

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina women's lacrosse is picking up right where it left off heading into the 2023 season.
The Tar Heels hold the top spot in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Preseason Top 20 poll, as announced by USA Lacrosse Magazine earlier this week. UNC finished its undefeated national championship season at No. 1 in the final ranking last year.
Returning this season to lead UNC are All-America selections Emily Nalls, Brooklyn Walker-Welch and Caitlyn Wurzburger. Carolina also welcomed two transfers in Lauren Figura and Sophie Student as well as eight first-years to its roster.
The team opens the 2023 season Saturday, Feb. 11 against James Madison in Chapel Hill. The full schedule can be found here.
