• Bacot had a season-high five assists and did not commit a turnover. The five assists are the most Bacot has distributed in a game in his career without a turnover (previous was three assists and no turnovers vs. Syracuse in the 2020 ACC Tournament).
• This was the second time this season (second straight game) and eighth time in his career that Bacot led UNC in assists.
• Bacot passed J.R. Reid for 29th in UNC career scoring. Bacot has 1,561 points. Reid scored 1,552. Jeff Lebo is 28th with 1,567.
• Freshman Seth Trimble scored a season-high 11 points and was a game-high and season-best plus 16. His previous highs were six points at Virginia Tech and plus 15 vs. Georgia Tech. He played 21:49, the third time he has played 20 or more minutes.
• Carolina shot 60% from the floor in the second half. It was the second-highest percentage in a half this season (.714 in the second half vs. Charleston).
• Carolina has shot 50% or better from the floor in the second half in five of the last seven games.
• Carolina shot 51.7% from the floor for the game. UNC is 4-0 this season and 14-0 in the last two seasons under Hubert Davis when making at least 50% from the floor.
• Carolina scored a season-high 32 points off 15 Wake Forest turnovers. The 32 points are the most since UNC scored 32 off 20 turnovers at Wake Forest in 2019.
• The Tar Heels committed eight turnovers in the first half that led to eight Wake Forest points. In the second half, Carolina committed only one turnover that led to no points.
• The Tar Heels scored 51 points in the second half, which equaled the most points allowed by Wake Forest in any half this season (Clemson scored 51 in the second half in a 77-57 win over the Deacs).
• Pete Nance left the game after playing 1:56 and did not return due to a stiff back. He initially strained his back in the first half of the game at Pittsburgh on December 30.
• Justin McKoy played a season-high 17 minutes and had two points, two rebounds and two blocks. His previous longest stint this season was seven minutes vs. The Citadel on December 13. He played eight straight minutes in one stretch tonight in the first half.
