Women’s Soccer Hosts Pitt In ACC Tournament First Round

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Postseason is officially here for the third-ranked North Carolina women's soccer team, which earned the fourth seed in the 2023 Ally Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament. The Tar Heels will host No. 20 Pitt, the tournament's fifth seed, in the first round on Sunday, Oct. 29, in Chapel Hill.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at Dorrance Field and tickets are available for purchase here. The game will air on ACC Network with Jenn Hildreth and Lori Lindsey on call.

- Seeking its 23rd ACC title, North Carolina has won 22 of the league's 35 tournament championships.
- UNC has an all-time record of 71-8-6 in the ACC Tournament, including 23-2 in the ACC Quarterfinals.
- Carolina has played in the championship match in each of its last six tournament appearances, and 28 times overall.
- UNC has won six ('03, '05, '06, '08, '09, '19) of the 16 ACC Tournaments held in Cary, N.C.

- Carolina's defense has held 17 of its 18 opponents to 10 shots or less, nine of those to five or fewer and three to only one.
- With a record of 10-0-8, UNC finished the regular season without a loss for the first time since 2004.
- This will be the seventh meeting between Carolina and Pitt in program history, and the first during postseason. UNC leads the all-time series at 7-0.
- UNC and Pitt last faced each other on Oct. 6, 2022, in Chapel Hill. Meza, Talia Dellaperuta and Maddie Dahlien recorded goals for a 4-0 Tar Heel victory.
