Women's Golf Signs Prats-Rigual And Yeung

Marie-Elodie Prats-Rigual of Perpignan, France, and Helen Yeung of Clarksville, Md., have signed National Letters of Intent to play women's golf at the University of North Carolina, head coach Aimee Neff announced today.
Prats-Rigual is the daughter of Coralie Prats and Lionel Rigual. She is a member of the French Golf Federation and was named to their junior national team in 2023.
She placed second in the individual standings and led the French team to victory in the European Young Masters in Slovakia in July. She recently finished seventh in the French National U18 Championships and shot an opening-round 69 to earn second in the International Junior Golf Masters in Germany. She shot 68-69 over the final two rounds to place fifth in the Catalunya Girls U18 Championship in Spain and shot 69 in the final round for a third-place showing in the French Women's National Championship.
Prats-Rigual, whose home club is St. Nom-La-Breteche, also competed for France in the 2023 German Girls' Open, and helped France place third in the 2023 European Girls' Team Championship.
Prats-Rigual, who speaks three languages and attends Lycee Polyvalent Bellevue in Toulouse, was one of six golfers selected in 2023 to compete for Europe against Great Britain and Ireland in the prestigious Junior Vagliano Cup. In 2022, she won the First Tee Miami Doral championship and qualified for the 2023 Girls Amateur Championship.
Yeung is a 2023 honorable mention Rolex Junior All-America, was the 3A/4A Maryland High School State Championship medalist in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and is a two-time Howard County Player of the Year. She led River Hill High School to consecutive team titles in the state championship. She won the 2023 individual state title in October shooting rounds of 65 and 67 for a state tournament record 10-under 132. Her opening round 65 was also a state record for the high school championship.
The daughter of Melinda Rattananet and Harry Yeung, she is currently ranked No. 26 in the class by Golfweek, Yeung has represented Maryland in the Poindexter Cup and the Mid-Atlantic Challenge. She qualified for the 2023 U.S. Girls' Junior, where she tied for 33rd in a field of 156. She shot under par in two of the three rounds and finished second at the Three Little Birds Memorial AJGA Open shooting, won the AJGA KJ Choi Foundation Junior Championship, finished fourth in the PING AJGA Invitational and qualified for the 2024 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
She attends River Hill High School, where is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, which benefits the local community and encourages others to participate in Spanish cultural activities.
