Swimming Wraps Up Regular Season In The Commonwealth

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. –The University of North Carolina men and women's swimming teams wrapped up regular season competition at the Cavalier Invitational on Sunday, while the divers competed at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• The foursome of Courtney Isley, Mia Phiri, Brieanna Romney and Lindy Bilden won the 200-yard freestyle medley relay with a time of 1:32.60.
• The top individual finishes came from Isley and Caroline Cooper. Isley took second place in the 100-yard freestyle, touching 0.96 in front of Romney. Cooper claimed second-place in the 200-yard butterfly.
• Emily Grund and Paige Burrell placed one and two in the 3-meter springboard with Grund scoring 374.95 points and Burrell tallying 344.10 points.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Wes Barnett finished first in the 200-yard backstroke with a personal-best time of 1:46.26. He posted personal-best times in the 200 and 400-yard IM races, earning second-place in each event.
• UNC registered three additional second place finishes with Daniel Chance finishing runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle, Tiesyn Harris in the 50-yard freestyle and Sebastain Poulsen in the 100-yard freestyle. Harris posted a personal-best time of 1:48.39 in the 50 free.
• Everett Oehler captured third place in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly. Jack Guenther finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke.
• Anton Down-Jenkins won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 391.05, while Alex Hart place third (360.25). Hart finished first in the 3-meter competition with a total of 419.75.
