Rowing Heads South For Weekend Event

SARASOTA, FLA. - After beginning their 2023 campaign at the beginning of March, the North Carolina rowing program concludes the month and kickstarts April this weekend, traveling south to the Sunshine State Invitational.Â

The Tar Heels kicked off their 2023 clate on March 4, traveling to Lake Hartwell to take on Clemson for the Carolina Cup.Â
In total, five boats competed on the day against the Tigers. The second varsity four squad finished just seconds behind the Tigers, finishing in a time of 7:57.7.Â
The first varsity eight (6:53.2), third varsity eight (7:35.0), first varsity four (7:59.93) and second varsity eight team (7:05.3) all finished close behind the Tigers in the matchup.Â
