Diamond Heels Headed To NCAA Terre Haute Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina has been selected as the No. 3 seed for the NCAA Terre Haute Regional in Terre Haute, Ind., and will play No. 2 seed Iowa on Friday, June 2 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ACC Network.

Host Indiana State is the tournament's No. 14 overall seed and will play No. 4 Wight State.

North Carolina is making its 35th all-time NCAA appearance, sixth consecutive and third straight under head third-year coach Scott Forbes. The Tar Heels have reached the postseason in 20 of the last 23 years, excluding 2020.

UNC and Iowa have met twice, most recently in 2020, with the Hawkeyes posting a 5-4 win at Cambrian Classic in Minneapolis, Minn. The Tar Heels won the other meeting in the series, 5-3, at the 1990 NCAA Northeast Regional in Waterbury, Conn.

North Carolina and Wright State last met in 2012, and the Tar Heels are 3-0 all-time against the Raiders. UNC has never played Indiana State.
