Nine Named To ACC All-Academic Baseball Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Nine North Carolina student-athletes have earned spots on the 2023 All-ACC Baseball Academic Team, announced the conference Wednesday. The honor is based on both academic and athletic achievement.
Requirements for selection to the All-ACC Baseball Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, position players must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests and pitchers in 20 percent.
Sophomore Vance Honeycutt earned a spot on the team for the second-consecutive year, while redshirt freshman Casey Cook, junior Johnny Castagnozzi and senior Will Sandy were recognized for the first time. Transfers Nelson Berkwich, Jake Knapp and Ben Peterson were named to the team in their first season at UNC along with freshmen Matthew Matthijs and Kyle Percival.
