CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina volleyball team (5-3) improved to 3-0 at home on Friday night, downing Santa Clara in four sets. The Tar Heels have dropped just one set in Carmichael Arena through the first three home matches.

Led by a season-high 19 kills from Emani' Foster, the Tar Heels outhit the Broncos, .254 to .164. The Tar Heels had 10 blocks on the night, the team's third double-digit performance of the season, led by four blocks from both Mabrey Shaffmaster and Sadie Swift, matching a career best for Shaffmaster.

NOTABLES:

Anita Babic matched her career-best of 48 assists on the night to go along with nine digs, just one dig shy of her fifth career double-double
In her collegiate debut, freshman Sydney Nolan tallied eight kills with a .583 hitting percentage, two block assists and a solo block
Maddy May matched her career-best of 22 digs and also had seven assists on the night
It was the third time this season that three Tar Heels had double-digit kills: Foster (19), Shaffmaster (14) and Thurman (11)
With 14 kills on the night, Shaffmaster has tallied double-digit kills in four straight matches and has had six double-digit performances on the season. She now has 901 career kills
