Men's Soccer Part Of 2024 Spring Soccer Cup Field

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The North Carolina men's soccer team is one of 10 programs set to participate in the 2024 Spring Soccer Cup, hosted by Wake Forest on Sunday, April 14.
The Tar Heels join ACC opponents Clemson, Duke, NC State, Pitt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, as well as Georgetown and Maryland in the event.
Over the past five seasons, the programs have combined for 38 NCAA Tournament appearances and eight College Cup appearances. Six of the 10 teams participating finished the 2023 campaign ranked in the final United Soccer Coaches poll, including ACC representation from Clemson (1), North Carolina (6), Virginia (13), Wake Forest (15) and Duke (20).
Each program will participate in three matches prior to arriving in Winston-Salem for the final event. The complete schedule will be announced at a later date.
At the end of the three matches, the final matches at Spry Stadium will be determined with the 10 programs being seeded.
Three points will be awarded for a win in regulation. If the matches remain tied after 90 minutes, the opponents will go directly into penalty kicks, with the winning team earning two points and the losing side being awarded one point.
On Sunday, April 14, the tentative schedule is as follows:
• Match 1: Spry Soccer Stadium (Noon)
• Match 2: Spry Training Field 2 (Noon)
• Match 3: Spry Training Field 1 (2:15 PM)
• Match 4: Spry Soccer Stadium (4:30 PM)
• Match 5: Spry Training Field 2 (4:30 PM)
