Women’s Soccer Heads To Stanford For Top-10 Tilt

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Riding a seven-game winning streak and boasting an unblemished 6-0 record in Atlantic Coast Conference play, the second-ranked North Carolina women's soccer team continues its road trip out west with a big matchup at No. 7 Stanford on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT) at Cagan Stadium in Stanford, California. The ranked match will air on ACCNX with Troy Clardy and Sarah Ach on call.

- The Tar Heels are ranked No. 2 in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll. The program has been ranked for 521 consecutive weeks.
- Sunday will mark UNC's fourth ranked contest this season, and first in the top 10. The Tar Heels are 3-0 against teams in the top 25.
- This will be the 17th meeting between Carolina and Stanford, and first in the ACC. The Tar Heels lead the all-time series at 10-3-3.
- Carolina has out-scored Stanford 31-9 all-time. UNC posted a 2-1 win in the last meeting on Sept. 5, 2021, in Chapel Hill after overcoming a 1-0 deficit.
- UNC earned its 250th regular season ACC victory on Thursday night. The next closest team, Virginia, has 184, also in 38 seasons as part of the league.
- The Tar Heels are 6-0-0 in ACC play for the first time since 2020. A win over the Cardinal would move UNC to 7-0-0 in the ACC for the first time since 2020 (UNC went 8-0 in ACC play that season).
- Linda Ullmark (No. 1), Trinity Armstrong (No. 4) and Bella Gaetino (No. 43) landed on Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Freshmen list. UNC is the only school with two rookies in the top five.

- Highlighted by nine shutouts on the year, UNC has kept all opponents to five shots on goal or fewer (2.7 per game) as well as 15 shots or fewer (6.1 per game).
