October 3, 2024 | Baseball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After nearly a month of official practice, the Carolina baseball team is set to take on its first opponent of the fall when it hosts Walters State Friday, Oct. 4 at Boshamer Stadium. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
Walters State, out of Morristown, Tenn., plays in the National Junior College Athletic Association, and went 44-14 last season. Former Senators include current Tar Heel Jake Knapp and recent Carolina designated hitter Alberto Osuna.
Admission to Friday's scrimmage is free. There will be no concessions open, so fans will be allowed to bring in outside food. Parking for the game will be in the Rams Head Deck.
For those unable to attend, there will be an audio stream on GoHeels.com with Anna Laible and Micah Paik on the call. Click here to listen.
The Heels' fall schedule continues on Oct. 11, when Carolina hosts Florence-Darlington. The Fall World Series is set for Oct. 15, 16, and 18 at Boshamer Stadium.
