Cross Country Men Defend Their Conference Title On Friday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Tar Heel men's cross country team looks to repeat as Atlantic Coast Conference champions for the first time since 1963, when they won three straight. The men's race starts at 9:30 a.m. EST.
Last year, the men's team clinched its first ACC championship since 1985, finishing 16 points ahead of Syracuse. The Heels return the individual ACC championship winner, senior Parker Wolfe. Wolfe is looking to be the third Tar Heel to win the ACC championship multiple times and the first since 1979.
The women's team is ready to improve on their fifth-place finish last season. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. EST, and the women's team is looking to win their first title since 2014. Senior Fatima Alanis was last year's top Tar Heels finisher with her 12th-place finish. She earned All-ACC honors with her time of 20:16.9.
The championship is hosted at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The race will be broadcast on the ACC Network. The live stats can be found here.
