Jackson Named ACC Rookie Of The Week

North Carolina's Ian Jackson is the ACC Rookie of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday.
ACC men's basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
Jackson made his first college start and scored a season-high 26 points in the Tar Heels' 97-81 home win over Campbell on Sunday, December 29. He was 9-for-16 from the floor against the Fighting Camels, made three 3-pointers and grabbed five rebounds in a season-high 36 minutes and also was a game-high plus-17. The native of The Bronx, N.Y., scored 24 in his previous game against UCLA and is the first UNC freshman to score 20 points in consecutive games since Cole Anthony posted 25 at Syracuse and 28 against Wake Forest in 2019-20. Jackson became the 10th Tar Heel freshman to score 24 or more points in consecutive games and the first since Anthony.
