Donofrio Named NCBWA Preseason Second-Team All-America

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNC outfielder Anthony Donofrio was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-America Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
The preseason honor is Donofrio's first of the season.
Donofrio transferred to North Carolina during the summer after spending the previous two seasons at Quinnipiac. He was a 2023 first team all-conference and all-region selection, hitting .364 with 16 home runs, 64 RBIs and 31 stolen bases, setting school record in the latter two categories and ranking among the top 10 in nine offensive categories in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
Donofrio played in 100 career games for the Bobcats and batted .355 (144-for-406) with 23 home runs and 89 RBIS with a 1.038 OPS.
A native of Massapequa, N.Y., Donofrio began his collegiate career at SUNY Cortland in 2019.
