Baseball Ranked No. 15 In Preseason Coaches Poll

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The final preseason poll of the year was released Tuesday, and North Carolina was tabbed as a top-15 program entering the season in the USA Today Sports Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Tar Heels checked in at No. 15 according to the NCAA Division I coaches. It is the fifth top-20 ranking for UNC in the preseason. In addition to today's poll, Carolina has been ranked No. 14 by Perfect Game, No. 15 by D1 Baseball, No. 16 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and No. 17 by Baseball America.
UNC is one of six ACC teams ranked by the coaches, along with No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 9 Clemson, No. 11 Virginia, No. 14 Duke, and No. 16 NC State.
The Diamond Heels will play 17 games against teams ranked in USA Today Sports Preseason Coaches poll, with a three-game ACC series against Wake Forest, Virginia, NC State, and Duke, along with a three-game set with No. 12 East Carolina and single games versus No. 18 Coastal Carolina and No. 21 South Carolina.
The Diamond Heels will open the 2024 season at home against Wagner on Feb. 16. Season tickets are on sale at GoHeels.com.

The Diamond Heels have 34 games scheduled at Boshamer Stadium this season, hosting NCAA Tournament participants Campbell, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, and UNCW, in addition to ACC series with Georgia Tech, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and Virginia Tech.
