Tar Heels Start Homestand With Elon Thursday

The University of North Carolina will begin a seven-match homestand on Thursday afternoon when it hosts Elon. The match will begin at 4 p.m. on the Cone-Kenfield Indoor courts of the Chewning Tennis Center.
The meeting with the Phoenix will mark the first of seven consecutive home matches for UNC. That stretch will include non-conference matches against Elon, No. 24 Georgia and Furman, as well as back-to-back home weekends to open Atlantic Coast Conference play.
The Tar Heels (3-3) are ranked 25th nationally in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, released this week.
Carolina is 3-1 at home with wins over Campbell, North Carolina Central and Florida. The Tar Heels are coming off a 4-2 loss at Illinois last weekend.
