Join Carolina Lacrosse In The Fight Against Pediatric Cancer
March 20, 2024 | Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse
North Carolina men’s and women’s lacrosse is teaming up with UNC Children’s Hospital for the fight against pediatric cancer.
The Tar Heel lacrosse teams are hosting their first-ever Shoes 4 Hope event during the doubleheader on Saturday, March 23, at Dorrance Field. The women host Louisville at 11 a.m. ET while the men play High Point at 3 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase here. One ticket will gain access to both events.
The Shoes 4 Hope doubleheader is part of Coaches vs. Cancer, a nationwide initiative that empowers coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Patients at UNC Children’s Hospital painted Nike sneakers for the Tar Heel coaches and staff to wear during Saturday’s games. Earlier this month, several UNC lacrosse players, coaches and staff members visited the hospital to paint shoes with the kids.
The shoes are up for auction to support Pediatric Hematology Oncology at UNC Children’s. All proceeds and donations benefit local children fighting cancer. The auction officially closes on April 22.
The auction can be found here. Bidding starts at $150.
If you have questions about how you can continue supporting UNC Children’s, please contact Assistant Director of Events, Tessa Johnson, at Tessa_Johnson@med.unc.edu.
Members of Carolina Lacrosse visited UNC Children's Hospital on March 6 to paint Nike shoes with patients. The painted shoes will be worn by UNC coaches and staff during the doubleheader on March 23 as part of Shoes 4 Hope.
The shoes are up for auction with all proceeds going to local children fighting cancer.
