Carolina Picks Up 5-2 Victory Over Georgia Tech

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- In its first match of the weekend, the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels (12-2, 5-0) defeated Georgia Tech (7-6, 3-2), 5-2.
To begin the day, on court three, Abbey Forbes and Tatum Evans kept their momentum going as the pair won its third straight match together. Next, on court one, Elizabeth Scotty and Carson Tanguilig clinched the doubles point for Carolina with a 6-4 victory.
In singles play, Anika Yarlagadda gave UNC its second point after a straight-set victory on court four (6-2, 6-1). Moments later, Elizabeth Scotty captured Carolina's third point after she won 6-1, 6-2 on court two.
Later, on court one, Fiona Crawley clinched the match for UNC after she won 7-5, 6-2. Despite already clinching the match, Tatum Evans won on court five (6-2, 7-6 (10-8)) to give Carolina its fifth point.
