Tar Heels Defeat Irish, 5-2

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- In its 2024 regular season finale, the No. 4 North Carolina Tar Heels (19-3, 12-1) defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (16-8, 7-6), 5-2 in South Bend.
To begin the match, Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig gave the Tar Heels the doubles point advantage after the duo won, 6-1 on court one. Shortly after, on court two, Elizabeth Scotty and Anika Yarlagadda clinched the doubles point for North Carolina after the duo won, 6-2.
In singles play, Carolina quickly picked up its second and third points of the match after Carson Tanguilig and Anika Yarlagadda won in straight sets while only dropping one game each. Tanguilig won 6-1, 6-0 on court three while Yarlagadda won 6-1, 6-0 on court four.
Later, on court one, Fiona Crawley clinched the match for North Carolina with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
Despite already clinching the match, Tatum Evans won 6-2, 7-5 on court six to tally Carolina's fifth point.
