Tar Heels Take Down No. 4 Virginia, 4-1

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- In its rematch against No. 4 Virginia, the No. 6 North Carolina Tar Heels (16-3, 9-1) defeated the Cavaliers (17-3, 9-1), 4-1 in Chapel Hill.
To begin the evening, the No. 33 ranked duo of Elizabeth Scotty and Carson Tanguilig defeated the No. 12 tandem of Chervinsky and Collard, 6-4 on court one. A few moments later, on court three, the Tar Heels fell 3-6. Finally, on court two, the Tar Heels forced a tenth game but fell 4-6.
Despite losing the singles point for the first time in ACC play, the Tar Heels dominated the Cavaliers in singles play.
To begin singles play, No. 10 Fiona Crawley won 6-1, 6-2 on court one to tie the match 1-1. Next, on court five, Anika Yarlagadda gave Carolina a 2-1 lead after she won 6-3, 6-2. On court two, Elizabeth Scotty tallied Carolina's third point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Finally, on court three, Reilly Tran clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-0 win.
In their second-to-last regular season home match, all four of UNC's points came from seniors.
