Softball Signs Graduate Transfer Kat Rodriguez

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina softball head coach Megan Smith Lyon and her staff announced the signing of Kat Rodriguez on Tuesday. A graduate transfer from Pitt, Rodriguez will spend her final remaining year of eligibility with the Tar Heels next season.
An infielder from Pembroke Pines, Fla., Rodriguez played her first two seasons at Quinnipiac, before transferring to Pitt in 2021.
She's played in 144 games in her career, making 141 starts, owning a .323 career batting average with 141 hits, 28 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs and 61 RBIs.
As a senior in 2024, Rodriguez, the Panthers' second baseman, led the team in batting average (.336), runs (27) and hits (50) and was the only Pitt player to start in all 49 games.
Rodriguez graduated in May with a degree in civil engineering and minor in architecture.
