Carolina Soccer Alumni To Compete In TST 2024

CARY, N.C. – Thirty-four North Carolina men's and women's soccer alumni are taking the pitch this week, playing in The Soccer Tournament 2024 at nearby WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.

TST, a winner-take-all tournament, will feature 48 men's teams and eight women's teams competing for two $1 million cash prizes. Using a 7-on-7 format, the men's and women's squads will compete in separate World Cup style tournaments consisting of group play and single-elimination knockout rounds.

In total, 156 matches will be played from June 5-10 during the weeklong tournament.

In the women's competition, 20 former Carolina players – as well as two current Tar Heels – will take the field:
The tournament gets underway June 5 and culminates with the respective men's and women's $1 million championship matches on June 10. While not all games will broadcast, select group-stage matches and both championships will be streamed on ESPN+ or ESPNU.

Building off last year's initial event, TST 2024 expanded from 32 teams to 48 teams on the men's side. This year marks the inaugural women's-only TST, which will have an equal $1 million prize.
