Wright Drops To Consolation Draw At ITA All-American Championship

TULSA, OKLA.— Arizona's Jay Friend, ranked #15 nationally in singles, defeated North Carolina's Anthony Wright 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday in the main draw of the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Wright now moves to the consolation main draw on Thursday.
The redshirt freshman from London, England, has made a splash in his first action as a Tar Heel after redshirting in 2023-24 at UNC. Wright's week began in the pre-qualifying draw and moved to the main draw as one of only two Atlantic Coast Conference players to do so.
