Carolina Set To Host ITA Kickoff Weekend

The Lead: After dropping a highly competitive contest to No. 6 Virginia on Monday, the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels aim to get back in the win column during ITA Kickoff Weekend. Over the course of this weekend, four teams will compete with the winner cementing a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in early February.

Storylines:

On Saturday, all four teams will compete with the winners facing off on Sunday at 2 p.m.
- The consolation match will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Brian Kalbas climbed to 773 career victories last week against Gardner-Webb.
- Kalbas owns the third-most victories all-time and is the nation's active leader.
Carolina has won four of the last five ITA Indoor Team Championships.
- UNC won four-straight ITA Championships from 2020-23.

UNC has a combined 10-1 all-time record against the Sun Devils, Crimson Tide and Badgers.
- Its lone loss was to Arizona State in March of 2007.
Susanna Maltby picked up her 10th career singles win last week.
Carolina boasts three ranked singles and three ranked doubles teams entering the week.

So far, UNC freshmen have compiled a 9-2 singles record to begin the season.
Last season, Carolina hosted Wisconsin in the second round of the NCAA Regionals in Chapel Hill.
