Heels Wrap Up First Week Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels wrapped up their first week of Spring scrimmages on Sunday afternoon as the Blue squad took a 5-1 win over Navy in a six-inning scrimmage at Boshamer Stadium. Blue outhit Navy by a 7-4 margin, and each squad committed one error.
Offensive Highlights:Â Rom Kellis V was the day's top hitter, going 3-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Perry Hargett was the only other hitter with multiple base hits as he was 2-3 with two runs scored.
Kane Kepley, Luke Stevenson, Tyson Bass, Reece Holbrook, Alex Madera and Jackson Van De Brake each had a single.
Pitching Highlights:Â Kyle Percival, Cale Bolton, Francesco Capocci, Olin Johnson, Tim Lawson and Harrison Lewis all saw action on the mound. Bolton tossed 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out five of the seven batters he faced.
Defensive Highlights:Â Rom Kellis V made a great, running catch on the warning track in left. Gavin Gallaher made a nice, running, back-handed grab of a sinking short fly ball to left.
