Heels Begin Second Week Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels began their second week of scrimmages with a five 1/2 inning scrimmage on Wednesday afternoon on a beautiful afternoon for baseball at Boshamer Stadium. The Navy squad outhit Blue by a 7-3 margin in their 5-2 win. Each squad committed one error.
Offensive Highlights:Â Reece Holbrook was 2-2 with a triple. Parker McCoy was the only other player with multiple base hit as he was also 2-2 at the plate. Sam Angelo blasted the only home run of this Spring's scrimmages with a 406-shot to left center. Perry Hargett and Macaddin Dye each had a double.
Pitching Highlights:Â Cameron Padgett, Boston Flannery and Tim Lawson threw for Navy, with Jake Knapp, Ryan Hench, Dylan Weber and Harrison Lewis throwing for Blue. Knapp gave up no hits while striking out two in 1.1 innings. 16 of Knapp's 23 pitches were strikes. Flannery, Lawson and Weber each threw a scoreless inning.
Weather permitting, the Tar Heels next scrimmage will be on Friday,
