CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – National champion and recent North Carolina graduate Bella Sember has signed a professional contract with KIF Örebro DFF, a club in the highest division of professional women's soccer in Sweden.
Sember, a central midfielder, ended her four-year Tar Heel career with 14 goals, five assists and 33 points across 82 appearances while logging 3,150 minutes. Eight of her 14 career goals were game-winners.
She was one of eight Tar Heels to play in all 27 matches in 2024 and earned 23 starts as a senior. Sember recorded eight goals, four assists and 20 points en route to the national championship. Her 20 points ranked second on the team.
The Centerport, New York native scored five game-winning goals this past season which ranked fourth in the NCAA and second in the Atlantic Coast Conference. She also served as one of the team's co-captains and is a member of the U.S. Women's Futsal National Team.
Sember graduated from UNC in December 2024 with a degree in exercise and sport science as well as a minor in coaching.
Based in Örebro, the sixth largest city in Sweden, the KIF Örebro DFF first team plays in Damallsvenskan, the top level of the country's football pyramid.
"Bella comes from the absolute highest level of college football in the United States, and just playing there is a guarantee of quality in itself," said KIF Örebro DFF sporting director Jonas Nilsson. "She is technically skilled, has a good shot with both feet, is physical in the duel and has an attitude that we really value. I am sure that she will be a central part of our team and one of the players who will not only make an impression in the Elitettan, but also in the OBOS Damallsvenskan in the future."
