No. 19 Volleyball Falls To No. 13 Miami In Five

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina volleyball fell to No. 13 Miami (25-20, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, 15-10) in five sets to close out the regular season.Â

Carolina opened the match with two stellar sets as they mounted comebacks in both sets. Miami closed out the match, winning the last three sets in a row

In the first, UNC's block was unstoppable, with six to power it to a five-point win. UNC held Miami to a -.047 hitting percentage in the frame.

The second was a back and forth battle where neither side hit well. But UNC outlasted the slugfest to win 25-23.

Jackie Taylor and Safi Hampton set career-highs in blocks with 12 and six, respectively.

Maddy May also moved into third in program history for digs in her final home match, totaling 1590.

The Tar Heels finished with a 12-4 home record and went 14-6 in conference play. The team notched two ranked wins, including No. 7 SMU, the first top ten win under Head Coach Mike Schall.

The Tar Heels will wait for the results of the selection show on Sunday, at 6:00Â p.m. EST on ESPN.Â
