No. 10/13 Fencing Heads To Ohio State For Elite Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - No. 10/13 Fencing hits the road for its first road trip of the season as the team heads to Columbus, OH, for the Elite Invitational on Nov. 8-9.

The two-day event starts at 8:00 a.m. EST and will be streamed on FencingTV and Ohio State's YouTube Channel.

Last Time Out:
The women's fencing team bested Duke 16-11, led by the sabre's 7-2 record. The freshman duo of Samantha Maryash and Dagny Johnson highlighted the women's victory as they both posted perfect records in their Tar Heel debuts. The women's victory was sealed as part of a 6-0 run, with freshman Kaitlyn Zanga clinching the 14th win of the dual, 5-4. She had trailed 2-1 before winning 5-4 to pick up her first win.

Rankings:
Both squads open the season ranked in the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association preseason poll. The men are ranked No. 10 while the women are No. 13.
