MTEN Opens ACC Play At Home This Weekend

The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will open its 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference regular season when it hosts Virginia Tech and Virginia this weekend in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels and Hokies will begin their match on Friday February 28 at 4 p.m., while UNC and UVA will renew their rivalry on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Chewning Tennis Center.
Carolina is 6-3 this season and is riding a two-match winning streak after sweeping a home doubleheader with The Citadel in its most recent action on February 15. The Tar Heels are 5-1 this season at home.
Virginia Tech is 8-3 thus far in 2025 and also will be opening ACC play on Friday. Virginia, ranked No. 5 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, is 8-2 and will open its conference season on Friday afternoon at Duke.
The first 150 fans in attendance at each match this weekend will receive free food, and fans at Friday's match against the Hokies will have the opportunity to register for two free tickets to Saturday's home men's basketball game against Miami.
