Heels Begin Final Week Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC-- The Navy squad took a 9-2 win over Blue in a seven-inning scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium as the Heels began their third and final week of preseason scrimmages. Navy had a 7-3 edge in hits. There was just one error in the scrimmage.
Hitting Highlights: Rom Kellis V, who blasted a 392-foot homer off the scoreboard, was 2-3 with five RBI. Gavin Gallaher, who had a double, was 2-3 with two RBI. No other player had multiple base hits. Kane Kepley's triple was the only other extra base hit.
Pitching HIghlights: Dylan Weber, Cale Bolton, Harrison Lewis and Francesco Capocci threw for Navy. Jake Knapp, Boston Flannery, Will Simmons and Matthew Matthijs pitched for Blue. Weber gave up one run on three hits in 3.0 innings. Lewis retired the side in order in his only inning on the mound. Bolton tossed a scoreless inning.
The Tar Heels will hold their next scrimmage on Friday.
