Humphrey Chosen As ACC Offensive Player Of The Week
March 11, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina women's lacrosse redshirt freshman Chloe Humphrey, who leads the team in goals, has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Humphrey joins her older sister, Ashley Humphrey (Feb. 18), as Tar Heels who have won the offensive honor this season. Sam Forrest (Feb. 11) and Brooklyn Walker-Welch (Feb. 18) have won the defensive recognition, giving UNC a league-leading four ACC Players of the Week.
The youngest of the Humphrey trio, Chloe totaled 11 goals, five assists and 16 points across two games during Carolina's 2-0 week. The Tar Heels defeated Temple, 19-3, last Tuesday before their 20-8 win over No. 14 Virginia on Saturday.
She had a game-high six goals and eight points against the Owls – both career highs – while recording one ground ball and one caused turnover. Four days later, she matched her career-high eight points vs. the Cavaliers with a game-leading five goals and career-high three assists.
A native of Darien, Conn., Humphrey has tallied at least three points in every game this season and has had at least a hat trick in all but one contest thus far. She leads the Tar Heels with 29 goals, which ranks third in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA.
Humphrey and the second-ranked Tar Heels return to Dorrance Field on Saturday, March 15, for a top-10 ACC matchup against No. 9 Clemson. First draw is set for noon ET and tickets are available for purchase here.
