Fencing Heads To Drew University For Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina Fencing is set to compete in the NCAAÂ regional championships on Saturday, March 8 in Madison, N.J. Â Carolina will compete against Princeton, Johns Hopkins, Penn, Duke, North Carolina, Drew, Steven's (Men), Temple (Women), NJIT, Haverford, Lafayette, and Penn State in the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional.
2024 Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals:Â Sophia Kovacs placed highest of all Tar Heels, finishing second in saber, while Sophia Mandour earned ninth place in foil. On the men's side, Elden Wood placed fifth in saber.Â
The last time Carolina Fencing was on the strip, the men's team finished as the runners-up in ACC Championship and Eli Lippman won the ACC Championship as an individual for men's epee.
