Yeung's 67 Leads Women's Golf To Tie For 4th At ACC Championship

Sophomore Ing Iadpluem shot 3-under-par 69 in the first round and freshman Helen Yeung carded a 67 in the second round to lead the University of North Carolina women's golf team to a tie for fourth place after 36 holes in the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Wednesday at Greensboro's Sedgefield Country Club.
Yeung's 67 is the low round ever by a UNC freshman in an ACC Tournament, one shot off the best round by a Tar Heel in the ACC Tournament.

The 12th-ranked Tar Heels (296-287), the No. 4 seed in the tournament, are tied with Wake Forest at 7-over 583.

Top-ranked Stanford leads after day one at 15-under 561. The Cardinal shot 6 under in the morning and 9 under in the afternoon. Florida State is second at 12 under, Virginia is third at 1 under, the Tar Heels and Demon Deacons are tied for fourth, Cal is sixth at 11 over and Louisville is seventh at 13 over.

The top six teams after Thursday's third and final round of stroke advance to match play, which begins Friday morning.

Iadpluem is tied for seventh place in the chase for the individual title. Iadpluem (69-74) shot 1-under 143, nine strokes behind the leader, Stanford's Andrew Revuelta (67-67, 10-under 134).

Yeung is tied for 13th at 2-over 146. She opened with a 79, then cut 12 strokes off that score with a 67 in the second round, just a single stroke off the low rounds of the day. Florida State's Mirabel Tingue, the No. 1-ranked collegiate player in the country, shot 66 in the first round, and Lottie Woad, the No. 1-ranked amateur in the world, shot 66 in round two. Yeung made 11 birdies over the first two rounds, which is tied for the tournament lead with Ting and Woad.

Yeung made five birdies and no bogeys on the back nine in the second round. Her 5-under-par 31 on the back nine equaled the lowest back nine score of the day. Ting shot 5 under in the morning and Duke's Carla De Troia matched Ting and Yeung in the second round.

Freshman Katie Vu provided the Tar Heels with their third sub-par round of the day as she shot 1-under-par 71 in the second round.

Carolina's Megan Streicher (73-75) is tied for 29th at 4-over 148, Reagan Southerland (75-76) is tied for 43rd at 7-over 151 and Vu (81-71) is tied for 47th at 8-over 151.
Southerland led the field in par-3 scoring at 2 under par, while Iadpluem is tied for second in par-5 scoring at 6 under.
