May 6, 2025 | Women's Tennis
The University of North Carolina women's tennis team will host NC State on Friday with a trip to the NCAA Championship round of eight in Waco, Texas, on the line.
The fifth-seeded Tar Heels and 12th-seeded Wolfpack will meet for the third time this season, this time in the NCAA Super Regional (round of 16). First serve is set for 5 p.m. at the Chewning Tennis Center.
Earlier in 2024-25, Carolina beat NCSU 4-3 in the regular season in Chapel Hill and 4-1 in the ACC Championship semifinals in Cary, N.C.
Fans planning to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online at GoHeels.com to avoid lines entering Chewning Tennis Center on the day of the match. Tickets are available here.
Carolina is appearing in the NCAA Super Regional for the 15th consecutive time, the 17th time under head coach Brian Kalbas and the 19th time overall. The Tar Heels are seeking their 13th appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight, all coming since 2002.
The UNC-NCSU winner will meet No. 4 seed Ohio State or No. 13 seed LSU next Thursday May 15 in an NCAA quarterfinal match in Waco, Texas. The Buckeyes and Tigers are scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
The Tar Heels have won 10 consecutive matches, including a trio of victories three weeks ago in Cary to capture their second consecutive ACC title.
