Men's Tennis To Open Fall With Split Weekend

The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will begin its 2025 Fall campaign this weekend split between events in South Carolina and Oklahoma.
A contingent of Tar Heels will head to Tulsa, Okla., for the ITA All-American Championships starting Saturday, first for two days of pre-qualifying action and two days of qualifying prior to the main draw, which begins on Wednesday Sept. 24.
Roan Jones, a senior transfer from Alabama, will begin play in the main draw, while Niels Ratiu, a junior transfer from Georgia, will join returnees Constantinos Djakouris, Anthony Wright and Chris Xu in the pre-qualifying draw in Tulsa.
The All-American Championships are the first opportunity for players to qualify for the 2025 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in Orlando in November. Ten singles players and four doubles teams will earn NCAA bids at the ITA All-American Championships.
Another group of UNC players will travel to Columbia, S.C., for the Carolina Classic beginning on Friday, hosted by the University of Carolina at the Carolina Tennis Center. That group will include sophomore Nick Mangiapane and freshmen Ian Mayew, Oliver Narbut and Kase Schinnerer.
In Columbia, action all three days will start at 9 a.m. On Friday, there will be two rounds of singles, on Saturday there will be one round of singles and two rounds of doubles and on Sunday there will be one round of singles and one round of doubles.
