Fencing Announces 2025-26 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. –  North Carolina fencing teams announced its 2025-26 schedule on Tuesday, Sept 30.
Carolina opens the season on the road at the October edition of the North American Cup (NAC) on Oct 3, 2025 - Oct 6, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Tar Heels will fence in a NAC three more times this season (November, February, and April). The team heads to Philadelphia, Pa., to the fence in the Temple Open on Oct. 25-26 to close out the month of October.
The Tar Heels welcome Duke to Chapel Hill for the opening regular season match on Nov 1. Following the rivalry match, the team will head to Columbus, Ohio, for the Elite Duals on Nov. 8-9. After the November NAC (14-17), the team will pause competition for the rest of 2025 before resuming the action with the Junior Olympics in Kansas City, Mo., to ring in 2026 on Jan. 9-13.
Four days later, fencing heads to Baltimore, Md., to compete in the JHU Invitational on Jan. 17-18. The team concludes the January slate with a one-day trip to State College, Pa., for the PSU Invitational on Jan. 24.Â
The traditional home-and-away series of the Miller Invitational and Beguinet Classic in Chapel Hill and Durham on Feb. 7 and 8 will ring in the February action. Four days later, the team will compete in the February NAC until the fifteenth.Â
Fencing makes the short trip to Durham as the ACC Championships start on Feb. 21-22.
The postseason continues into March as the team competes in regionals on March 7 and then will travel to South Bend, Ind, for the NCAA Championships on March 19-22 for the first year in which the women's team will compete for their own championship, as every other year the NCAA Championship was joint between the men and women.Â
The year closes out with the April NAC on April 24-27.
