Heels Hold First Scrimmage Of The Fall On Wednesday

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held their first scrimmage of the Fall on Wednesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium, lasting 8 1/2 innings on a perfect afternoon for baseball.
Offensive Highlights:Â Three Blue players had multiple base hits. Perry Hargett was 2-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Hargett had one of three Blue home runs. Cooper Nicholson was 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored while Jake Schaffner was 2-3 with one run scored. Macon Winslow added a three-run homer for Blue. Michael Maginnis was 1-3 with a solo homer. Tyler Howe's double was Blue's other extra base hit.
Erik Paulsen, who doubled, led Navy by going 3-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. AJ Terry was 3-4 with a double. Colin Hynek belted a two-run homer for Navy.
Pitching Highlights:Â Eight pitchers saw action on Wednesday. Tom Chmielewski, Cam Padgett, Riley Leatherman and Justin Mabe threw for Navy while Jackson Rose, Olin Johnson, Tim Lawson and Boston Flannery threw for Navy.
The Tar Heels next scrimmage will be on Tuesday.
