Women’s Soccer Welcomes No. 1 Recruiting Class

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina women's soccer and Head Coach Damon Nahas announced the addition of 12 players to the incoming class of 2026. The future Tar Heels were ranked no. 1 as a recruiting class by TopDrawerSoccer.
Scottie Antonucci will head to Chapel Hill from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. The midfielder has previously competed with Legends FC where she was tabbed ECNL Southwest Player of the Year twice and a three-time ECNL All-American. Antonucci is also a familiar face on the U.S. U-17 National Team. The Calif. native has competed in two U-17 world cups bringing home a bronze medal in 2024.
Maggie Currie, a San Jose, Calif. native, is set to join UNC as a midfielder/forward. Currie has competed with MVLA and Leigh High School prior to coming to Carolina. In the Blossom Valley Athletic League, Currie was named Freshman of the Year, Sophomore of the Year, and All-League Most Valuable Player. The midfielder has also spent time with the U.S. National Team as a member of the U-17 Concacaf roster. Currie was also tabbed Northern California ECNL All-Conference.
Leah Kuklick is another North Carolina native to join the class of 2026. The forward currently competes with the NC Courage ECNL team where she became a USL National Champion in 2024 and National Finalist in 2025. Kuklick was also named ECNL Mid Atlantic First Team All-Conference and received a North Carolina Football Club Shield Award.
Amari Manning is a forward set to join UNC from Flemington, N.J. Manning trained at Players Development Academy where she became a U-14 ECNL National Champion. The forward was also a U-13 ECNL National Finalist and U-15 Nike Premier Cup Champion. The Flemington, N.J. native also comes with experience on the U.S. Youth National Team after becoming a U-15 Concacaf Champion.
Ella Martinez is set to join the Tar Heels after competing with the USL Super League team Carolina Ascent. The Marietta, Ga. native has spent time representing the U.S. and Columbia on their National Teams over the past several seasons. For the U.S., Martinez previously competed with the U-15 and U-16 teams. Since 2024 the midfielder/forward has played for the Colombia Youth National Team. While with the Colombian National Team, Martinez helped the team qualify for the U-17 World Cup in 2024 and again in 2025. The midfielder/forward was also named Player of the Match in one of Colombia's 2025 World Cup matches.
Cali O'Neill, a local from Durham, N.C., will join the team as a defender. O'Neill has previously played at NC Courage while making appearances with the U.S. National Team. The defender was a member of the U-17 National Team that competed in Trinidad and Tobago before being named to the 2025 World Cup roster. O'Neill also played in the 2025 TST 7v7 Tournament.
Samantha Rich is set to head to Chapel Hill from Orinda, Calif. The forward currently competes with Lamorinda SC. Rich was a part of four-time NW Girls Academy conference championships and talent ID camps. The forward has also been a member of U-17 and U-15 U.S. National Team Camps and Friendlies throughout the past couple years.
Wylie Roossien is a forward set to join the Tar Heels from Nahant Mass. where she competes with FC Stars. In club soccer, Roossien was an ECNL National Semi-Finalist in 2024. The forward was also named All-State by United Soccer in 2024. Most recently, Roossien was named First Team All-America.
Chloe Shroff is a defender joining the Tar Heels from Myrtle Beach, S.C. The defender competes for Vines and Branches High School and Wilmington Hammerheads for club. Shroff won the Mid-Atlantic Conference in 2023.
Deus Stanislaus is a midfielder from Fort Washington, Pa. prepped to join the program. The midfielder has competed with Players Development Academy and won an ECNL National Championship in U-14. Stanislaus was also tabbed U-15 North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and two-time First Team ECNL All-American. The midfielder also competed with the U.S. Youth National Team at the U-15 Concacaf Championships.
Sealey Strawn is a forward from Prosper, Texas set to join the Tar Heels next fall. The forward currently competes with Dallas Trinity FC where she was named 2024 USL Young Player of the Year. Strawn was also an ECNL National Champion in 2023 and four-time All-Texas Conference First Team.
Peyton Trayer, a goalkeeper from Aliso Viejo, Calif., has officially signed to join the program. The goalie currently plays club soccer at Slammers FC HB Koge. Most recently, Trayer competed with the U.S. Youth National Team at the U-17 World Cup. Through club soccer, the goalie won an ECNL National Championship (2021) and has been tabbed ECNL Southwest All-Conference two times. Trayer was also tabbed CIF Player of the Year (2023) and League Defensive MVP (2024). The goalie went on to become a two-time CIF Champion and SoCal State Champion.
