Men's Tennis Sweeps Doubleheader Over Campbell & NCCU

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—North Carolina men's tennis ran its winning streak to four by sweeping Campbell and North Carolina Central in a doubleheader on Sunday on the Cone-Kenfield Indoor Courts at the Chewning Tennis Center.
Carolina blitzed the Fighting Camels, 4-0, in under two hours in the day's first match, then topped the Eagles, 5-0, in the nightcap.
The Tar Heels improved to 7-2 this season with the pair of victories. Carolina has won four matches in a row. Campbell dropped to 2-4, while NC Central fell to 1-4.

With their home non-conference schedule complete, the Tar Heels will visit Illinois on Sunday February 22 before returning home to open Atlantic Coast Conference action the following weekend against Stanford and Cal.
How it Happened — Doubles vs. Campbell
• Kase Schinnerer and Ian Mayew, ranked #89 in the latest ITA rankings, cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles over Alex Fragasso and Arush Gupta to start the day. The freshman duo improved to 13-4 this season, leading the Tar Heels in doubles victories.
• The Tar Heels clinched the doubles point when Roan Jones and Anthony Wright topped Adi Dagan and Matias Lofnik (Campbell), 6-3. Jones and Wright won their fourth in a row, all in dual match competition.
• At No. 1 doubles, UNC's Chris Xu and Nick Mangiapane were tied with Thomas Drapeau and Max Hamon, 4-4, when the match went unfinished.

• Xu grabbed the first singles win of the day, breezing to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Fragasso at No. 1 to improve to 4-2 this season at the top slot in the lineup.

• Constantinos Djakouris followed not long thereafter with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 to give Carolina a 3-0 team lead. It was Djakouris' team-high third clinching singles victory of the season.
