Lynch Makes Preseason College Pitcher Of The Year Watch List

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina baseball sophomore Ryan Lynch has been named to Baseball America's Preseason College Pitcher of the Year Watch List, the organization announced on Tuesday morning.

The big righty is one of just 20 players included in the recognition that considers every pitcher in the nation. Overall, four ACC hurlers made the list.

Lynch enters his sophomore season hot off a debut campaign that saw him earn Freshman All-America status from Baseball America among other outlets. Spending most of the year as a key reliever before moving into a starting role in the postseason, the Moorestown, N.J., native logged a 5-1 record with two saves in 61.1 innings on a 2.92 ERA with 72 strikeouts.

Lynch and the Diamond Heels return to Boshamer Stadium on Friday, Feb. 13 for their season opener against Indiana.
