Swimming’s 400 Medley Relay Earns All-America Honors At NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – University of North Carolina's 400 medley relay of Sophia Frei, Samantha Armand, Mary Macaulay and Kamryn Meskill claimed honorable mention All-America honors after finishing 14th in the event on Friday with a time of 3:30.17.
Frei led off the relay in 51.55 followed by Armand on the breaststroke leg in 58.89. Macualay handled the butterfly with a split of 51.85 and Meskill closed by clocking a 47.88.
Armand pulled double duty and set a personal best of 2:09.88. That time moved her to No. 5 all-time at UNC. Frei also doubled up and finished 23rd in the 100 back in 51.52, while Emma Karam placed 27th in 51.79. Sofia Knight was back in action and took 28th in the 3-meter with a score of 289.40.
The Heels will finish off the Championships on Saturday, competing in the 200 IM, 200 fly, 200 back, platform and 400 free relay. Prelims are set to start at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m. The Championships can be streamed on ESPN+.
