Women’s Swimming & Diving Places 24th At NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – The University of North Carolina women's swimming and diving team finished 24th at the NCAA Championships after the final day of action on Saturday. The Heels claimed four All-America honors on the final day led by diver Sofia Knight, who earned her second recognition of the meet on platform.
Knight qualified sixth during prelims and held that position through finals to claim All-America for the second time after doing so on 1-meter earlier this week. Sophia Frei placed 11th in the 200 back to claim honorable mention All-America, while breaking her own school record with a 1:51.24. Emma Karam placed 17th, just missing All-America position, in the event to finish her career at No. 4 all-time.
Taylor Bloom used a 1:54.92 to place 15th in the 200 fly, while claiming honorable mention All-America honors and moving to No. 6 all-time at UNC. Mary Macaulay clocked a 1:56.43 to finish 16h in the 200 IM and earn honorable mention All-America honors
Next up, the men's squad will travel to Atlanta for the Men's Championships starting on Wednesday, March 25.
