Alvarez & Munson Called Up For U-20 National Team Training Camp

ATLANTA, Ga. – The U.S. U-20 Women's National Team and head coach Vicky Jepson announced the 24-player roster for an upcoming training camp Tuesday morning. The camp will be held in Kansas City, Mo. April 7-16 including a pair of matches against Brazil. Aven Alvarez and Hope Munson from the Carolina women's soccer program are set to join the national team at camp.
The training camp and matches are a part of the team's preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. The U.S. and Brazil are a part of the 16 teams already qualified. The national teams will clash on April 11 at CPKC Stadium with a 6:30 p.m. CT start time. Their second match of the upcoming camp will take place on April 15 at Riverside Stadium beginning at 2 p.m. CT.
Each of the Tar Heels heading to camp have experience with the U.S. national team. Alvarez has played several matches with the U-19 team and was previously invited to a U-20 training camp in 2024. Munson recently played with the U-20 national team at a training camp held in California.
Both Alvarez and Munson will be joined by former Tar Heel, Linda Ullmark, at the camp.
