Four Tar Heels Named All-America By ABCA

OMAHA, Neb. – Four stars from the 2026 North Carolina baseball team have been selected for All-America honors by the ABCA/Rawlings it was announced on Friday afternoon.

Jason DeCaro, Owen Hull, and Jake Schaffner earned spots on the second team with Caden Glauber making the third team. It's the first All-America selection for Hull, who now gives Carolina 72 in its program's history. The other three had all been previously honored this season, but it is the first year being given the distinction for all four.

DeCaro, fresh off a complete game shutout of USC in the Chapel Hill Super Regional, picks up his third All-America nod thanks to another dominant season as Carolina's Friday ace. His 11-2 record gives him the second most wins of anyone in the country and is paired with 84 strikeouts and a 2.28 ERA.

The hero of the Heels' walk off win in game three of the Super, Hull has been the engine of the UNC offense all season. The junior centerfielder leads the team in a number of categories including batting average (.390), slugging percentage (.589), on base percentage (.505), hits (92), and RBIs (81).

North Carolina's leadoff man, Schaffner has now earned two All-America awards as a result of an elite offensive and defensive season. Leading the team in runs scored (78) and stolen bases (25) with a .358 batting average puts the Brooks Wallace Award Finalist as one of the nation's top five shortstops in elite company.

Glauber earns a third team selection from the ABCA after a pair of first team nods. The freshman has gone beyond even the phenom moniker as he leads all rookies in the NCAA in strikeouts (99) while maintaining the best record (10-0).
