Three Heels Prepare For U-20 National Team Camp
July 1, 2026 | Women's Soccer
ATLANTA, Ga. – The U.S. U-20 Women's National Team and head coach Vicky Jepson have announced the 24-player roster for an upcoming training camp and pair of matches. A trio of Tar Heels were named to the roster: Aven Alvarez, Hope Munson and Sealey Strawn. The team will train and compete at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga. from July 5-16.
The camp will be the last training session the squad has before the U-20 Women's World Cup this fall. Following the conclusion of camp, Jepson will then choose the 21 players to represent the USA at the World Cup. The WNT and those players selected will begin their quest for a World Cup title on Sept. 6 against Italy.
Alvarez and Munson have both been recurring members of the U-20 training camp or international friendly rosters throughout the past year. Most recently, the duo traveled to Spain with the team to train and compete against France. The WNT went 2-0 on the trip.
Strawn is also a familiar face within U.S. Soccer. The forward has competed across all national teams, with her most recent experience coming with the U-19 team in Germany. Strawn helped the team to a 1-1 record on the trip featuring a start in the first match.
