General -- Returning letter winner for the Tar Heels in the midfield unit... has earned three letters at Carolina... will likely play a reserve midfielder role for the Tar Heels this year while making major contributions in practice... Coach Dorrance says Costa had a magnificent spring 2000 practice season and will be a legitimate candidate to start at the defensive midfielder position... if not she will certainly see increased playing time this season... came to Carolina after graduating from East Chapel Hill High School... a Dean's List student at UNC... member of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity serving as alumni vice president... amongst activities she volunteered for just last spring were the Bloodmobile, Cancer Walk, Ronald McDonald House and Carnivore Preservation Trust.
